How to Sync Photos from iPhone to Mac and Windows Computer
iPhone is not just a great smartphone but also an excellent device when it comes to capturing photos. The main issue arises when you have to transfer your photos to your computer. The most common way is to connect your device with your computer and sync it using iTunes. However, it can be a time consuming task especially for a person like me. Apple did introduce its own cloud storage service iCloud so that you can sync your data but it offers users with a limited space. To get more space, you must purchase extra storage space.
If you are one of those people who don’t want to spend any money and want to sync photos from iPhone to Mac or Windows computer the easy way, you can give Skypath for iOS a try.
What is SkyPath?
SkyPath is a very handy iOS application launched by one of the most popular image sharing sites, ImageShack. The application allows users to upload photos from their iOS devices to ImageShack and sync it to their computers or download them by logging in to ImageShack’s web interface. The application is available for all platforms including iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.
How to use SkyPath?
To get started, go to iTunes Store and install SkyPath on your device. After installing SkyPath on your iOS device, sign up for an account on ImageShack from within the app or through ImageShack’s web interface. After registration, login using your credentials, go to the upload tab and tap on the “+” icon on your home screen. Do note that you must authorize the application to access your photos.
Select the photos you want to sync and tap on Done.
One useful feature about the application is that it allows users to add multiple effects to their photos as well. After uploading the image, just tap on Edit and it will show you all the effects you can add to your images.
If you don’t want to upload selected photos, you can sync your entire photo library to ImageShack by enabling Photo Album Sync from the application settings.
After uploading the image, you can either download it using ImageShack’s Web Interface or through SkyPath desktop app. The desktop application will automatically sync the photos and they will appear in your SkyPath folder. Personally, I don’t like to install extra applications, especially if you can perform the same task using web applications.
Conclusion
SkyPath is a very handy iOS app for those users if you use ImageShack to upload your photos on a regular basis. The application is really simple and I didn’t come across any flaw during my testing. The good thing about the application is that I was also given extra 25GB space on ImageShack after I uploaded my first photo.
Do you use ImageShack? If yes then you should definitely give Skypath for iOS a try.
Feel free to share your thoughts if you tried Skypath for iOS.
