How to host Website on Dropbox account for free
Step 1. First of all, you need to have an account on Pancake.io. If you don’t have it already, just point your browser to Pancake.io. Just provide your email address and password of your choice in the sign up page and click on ‘Sign Up’. This will create your account on Pancake.io.
It will then take you to Dropbox login page. Just login there and link your Pancake.io account (that you just created) with your Dropbox account. Give the asked permissions so as to allow the Pancake.io to create a folder in your Dropbox account.
Step 2. The initial process is all done. Now you need to work for your website’s content. Just simply create the content that you want on your page. Note that while creating content for your page, you can use HTML language, PDF or Microsoft files. Add as maximum content as you want and after creating the desired content, save it simply. But make sure that you are saving it in the Apps/pancake.io folder.
Step 3. Open any file from your Apps/pancake.io folder that you want to work as homepage. After opening the file, you will find ‘Share’ option. Click on it and then click on ‘Copy Link’. This will copy the link pointing to that opened file/page, to your clipboard.
Just share this link with your friends and when anyone will visit this link, they will end up with your website’s page, the page which is saved in your Dropbox account just because of Pancake.io.
The visitors will only be able to see the page but not to edit it. Well, you might be familiar that Dropbox daily traffic limit of 10GB for free users. Not following this guideline will suspend your Dropbox account. So don’t think about creating a big site using this technique.
