JustCloud Review – Online Backup Service
We store thousands of songs, videos, documents on our computer hard disk. But most of the computer users don’t give much importance to back up. Regularly backing up important data is a very good practice because hard disk can fail any time. A study done by Google shows that computer hard disk failure rate is around 8% after two years of service. That means out of 12 hard disks 1 hard disk will fail within just two years of usage. If you are not taking regular backup, then you are at risk, you can lose important data any time. Keep in mind that recovering all data from damaged hard disk is not possible all the time and it can be very expensive. So start taking regular backups everyday or every week if you are too lazy.
Here are some interesting facts about backup –
- All hard drives will crash during their lifetime
- More than 1 in 10 laptops will be stolen in their lifetime
- A laptop is stolen every 53 seconds
- Every year 46% of computer users lose their music, photos, and documents
- 50% of all hard drives will crash within 5 years
- 89.1% of PC users don’t perform regular backups
- A recent study from Gartner, Inc., found that 90 percent of companies that experience data loss go out of business within two years.
- 70 percent of companies go out of business after a major data loss
The question which comes to our mind is that how to take backup and where to save backup files. You can save backup files on DVD disks or USB flash drives or external hard disks if backup size is big. This will reduce the probability of data loss, but your data will not be completely secure. It is the right time to start using Cloud storage which is becoming popular nowadays. The advantage of cloud storage is that your data will be stored in remote data center and data loss probability will be almost zero. Another best thing about online storage is that you can get access to your important files from any computer, mobiles using cloud applications. Nice software to save ur data,I am using it. Recently got an email from hostgator on world BACKUP day.but one thing I dislike it,they are flooding my inbox every day with 4-5 offers, and strange thing is their is no unsubscribe link 🙁 . Apart from that its good 🙂 but forceful marketing failed.
Thanks for your feedback Saurabh. They does have unsubscribe link at the bottom of emails.
The facts that are presented in this posts look scary. It actually motivated me to use JustCloud!
Well writter post.
I have a question : What is so different with Dropbox?
Hi Rashmi,
The main difference between JustCloud and Dropbox is the automatic backup feature. Dropbox can not automatically backup files from computer in regular intervals. JustCloud offer unlimited space whereas Dropbox has limited storage space.
JustCloud is not free.
Everyone says it’s free, it is not free.
Just saying.
No, the main difference is that dropbox give you Gigabytes of free online storage and Justcloud give you a 14 day free trial followed by an expensive plan.
Thanks, but no thanks.
