Say Hello to WebAdvices.
WebAdvices is the new name of Tech2Go.
This the third time I’m changing name of this blog. In the year 2010 I started this blog as techtrick24.blogspot.com. Later I purchased the domain name Tech2Go.in which I was using for last 15 months. The name Tech2Go became popular, but there were some reasons why I’ve decided to change the domain name. Firstly the .in extension is country-code Top Level Domain name (ccTLD) for India as a result most of the visitors from search engine were from India. I always wanted to reach more people through this blog, for this reason I was planning to get a .com domain name. Usually people add a .com after any websites address so having .in extension in websites was not a great idea. This was another reason of this name change.
From last three months I was looking for a good domain name which will be easy to remember and easy to spell. It was not easy to find a good domain name because most of the domain names are already registered. After long search I found this name WebAdvices.com. I really like this new name and finally decided to change the name. It took around one day to complete the process of redirection from old domain to new. As you can see that I’ve set up redirection from old domain to this new domain. So if anyone wants to visit this blog using old address then he will be automatically redirected to this new address.

Congratulation for you new domain name. I just want to know that is search engine will create any problem with the new domain name? because I done same thing that you done. I created my blog with blogspot and now I just created my blog on wordpress so the all url in the search engine will showing errors. So what you done for that?

If you can make 301 redirect from old domain to new domain correctly then you will not loose any search engine traffic. Google Page Rank and Alexa Ranking will be lost initially but after sometime those ranking will come back. This time I’ve changed domain name in WordPress blog but in your case you are migrating from Blogger blog to WordPress blog, that is little difficult. You have to be very careful and make sure you don’t change permalink structure. If you need any more help feel free to contact me 🙂

ok that’s the reason behind changing the domain. Firstly, I thought I put wrong URL in the address bar when I was just going to redirected to webadvices.com but now got to know about the change!
I think change is necessary for development. I think I know you blog since tec2go was six months old and you cut a cake on webpage 😀
Many quality links are already made to tech2go and now those directory links and bookmarking can be done again so you will get double benefit. Because tech2go is redirecting with 301 and you’ll get both as well as new authority. So it’s a positive move!
But I think I do not agree with what you said that .in gets less traffic from outside India. I think you should move your site to US server (maybe that will work). I love my .in domain and I will stick to it. Hopefully I will also purchase the .com of same when available!
