Windows 8 will be next major release from Microsoft. Yesterday at BUILD conference Microsoft showcased amazing features of Windows 8 and also made available Windows 8 Developer Preview version. You can now download Windows 8 Developer Preview and test it. At developer focused BUILD conference Microsoft showcased detailed preview of next major release codenamed “Windows 8” which is expected to released next year.
Windows 8 Features-
Windows 8 is coming with many exciting new features and touch based Metro user interface. Metro UI works with touch screen computer, tablets and traditional keyboard and mouse. Internet Explorer 10 will come along Windows 8, which will give fluid touch internet experence. Windows 8 will have Metro style applications and these apps can communicate with each other. Using SkyDrive we will be able to access our documents, pictures, files etc. from anywhere using browsers or using the Metro style applications. Windows 8 will introduce “Windows Store” where developers can sell applications, games easily to users.
Windows 8 will run on ARM chipsets that means we can expect many Windows 8 based tablets PC in coming years. You can now download Windows 8 Developer Preview version for free. Please note that this Windows 8 Developer Preview version does not contain all features showcased in BUILD conference like Windows Store, Windows Live Metro style apps, and some of the user interface features. Windows 8 beta is will be released later this year.

- 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
- Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch

Wow! This looks awesome. I should try this but my PC won’t run, only 1GB RAM. I should think to update my specs
I think you can give a try as Windows 8 needs minimum 1GB RAM.
The pictures look good and very different I must say. Great to know that it supports touch feature! Thought of downloading but the file size is huge!!
Which version of windows 8 should I go with?
At this time there only one version of Windows 8 is available.
