Mosaic Project Brings Windows 8 Metro User Interface To Windows 7
Windows 8, upcoming operating system from Microsoft will be released next year. Windows 8 is coming with many new exciting features. Metro UI one the noticeable changes which Windows 8 is bringing. Metro user interface was first introduced in Microsoft Zune media player and later it is used in Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system. Metro UI looks very cool and easy to use. In Windows 8 Microsoft will be using Metro UI. You can see many Windows 8 demo videos in YouTube, those looks awesome.
Previously I’ve shared Metro Home widget by which we can get Metro UI like widget. But do want to experience Metro User Interface in Windows 7? Using Mosaic we can experience Metro UI in Windows 7 computers. It is an application that brings Metro UI to your desktop. Mosaic replaces standard Windows 7 desktop and brings cool Meto UI.
Here you can add widgets from Mosaic Store. There are some cool looking live widgets like Gmail widget, Video Weather Widget,Pictures widget, Twitter widget etc. You can aslo add you Facebook freinds in to Mosaic desktop. Some widgets like people widget, weather widget have fullscreen extended view called hub.
Currently Mosaic software is in Beta stage, there might be some bugs in this release. The software is around 550 KB you can download by Mosaic project website. This software only runs on Windows 7 and needs Microsoft .Net 4.0 Framework.
