How To Enable USB Host Mode on Nokia N900
USB host mode or USB OTG (On The Go) is a great feature and I think that all mobiles should have this feature. It’s very useful, you can directly connect your USB flash drive, external HDD, memory card readers to your mobile and transfer data.External keyboard, mouse, DVD drives etc can also be used with your mobile. Previous Nokia Internet Tablets like N800 and N810 had USB host mode feature. Latest Nokia mobiles like Nokia N8,E7 etc also have this feature.Nokia N900 does not have this officially, but some hard working developers successfully enabled this feature on Nokia N900.Enable all repositories from App manager (Extras-testing, Extras-devel, Extras and the default Nokia)
update Applicatin manager
search for h-e-n and install it. Power kernel is needed for USB hostmode.Power kernel will be install automatically with h-e-n.
You need female to female USB adapter like this (you can buy this from Amazon using the link below)
Start h-e-n
Now select hostmode speed according to this list
eg. If you are going to use USB Flash drive then select High Speed hostmode
Next click VBUS boost on then Enumerate
after that click Mount
Now File Manager will open and you will see the attached USB device there
You can copy, paste and delete files just like internal EMMC and Memory Card.
Copy,Paste speeds are very good
When done click Unmount and click VBUS boost off
I’ve successfully used my USB flash drive with N900 and I’m able to use external Hard drive also

PS: I’m not responsible if anything wrong happen to your mobile. Read all warning before installing power kernel.

pls help me for the abv issue.
Guys don’t go for ‘Nokia CA-157’ as its Micro-USB is rectangular in ship which doesn’t fits in N900 port as its sort of Trapezium.
So, go for Female to Female USB.
Cheers 🙂
Hy everybody!
Some people had a problem to mount pendrive. I need to give you a tip. Maybe it will work.
So, when the “Linux kernel for power user” was installed; you must restart the phone. Let’s run h-e-n and touch the top of the screen -> settings -> Open file manager after mount. Remove the tick from here. (I had a problem: I had not originally file manager as default.)
I hope I can help you! (Sorry for my english.)
